A variety of instruments, styles and nuances arrives in the form of one talented young artist who is touring the country.

Kristel Birkholz is an accomplished musician who's been producing mellifluous sounds since the age of six. Today she has a B MUS degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where she majored in performance.

Besides gaining acclaim as a violinist, she is also a pianist, flautist and singer. As a performer, Kristel regularly performs as a soloist in a variety of contexts, from classical recitals through to jazz and contemporary works.

To date, Kristel has recorded and released three albums. The first is an EP, My Revolution, which she self-produced in 2007. Her second album, Burning Bridges (2008) is a classical crossover CD, and the third, The Sea in Spring (2009), is a purely classical work. The live DVD recording of this album received a SAMA nomination in 2010.

Kristel is currently touring a concept show called Chocolate Box, as well as a series of classical concerts. More info on these is listed below.
